The European Party Scene
Clubs in Minneapolis are required to shut down by 2/2:30 am, but clubs here in Europe don’t even really get going until that time. It’s been weird to adapt to that, especially when I wake up the next morning and have to go sightseeing before the sun sets at 4pm - Berlin is very northern & eastern in its time zone. There are always people ready to party every night. We went to a club on Sunday in Berlin and they had just opened up a second floor for the party as we were leaving at 4am.
The music is also completely different. Clubs that just play American Top 40 songs are still existent, but in the minority. Most clubs are house & techno. I have grown to love both. There’s nothing like singing along to Lady GaGa in a gay club in Berlin on a Sunday night, but you also can’t beat dancing into the wee hours to a thumping bass.
I’m hoping I can get my dance on when I get back to Minneapolis!
